Prasonisi means in Greek the “Green Island” and is located at the very south of the island approximately 92 km from Rhodes town. This place has a particularity since during summer that the water levels are low the island becomes a peninsula attached to Rhodes while in the winter that the water levels are high Prasonisi becomes a separate island. Prasonnisi is also regarded as the mecca of windsurfing and kitesurfing in Rhodes providing an all around practice field for beginners and experts as on one side of the cape the sea is rough with strong waves while on the other side the water levels are rather flat and thus more appropriate for beginners.
