COVID-19 | TRAVEL INFORMATION | FINAL UPDATE (12/06/20)

Dear Valued Guests,

Hope you and your families are well and safe.

Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic has had a profound impact on our daily lives and a destructive influence on all tourism related industries.

So far, we have seen a plethora of announcements made by various countries’ governments trying to restart the economy and the travel industry. Unfortunately, as each country is forming their own plan, quite often travel requirements announced are contradicting causing too much frustration as to the actual restrictions in place. This uncertainty has already created a toxic environment with many flight companies cancelling their flight programs and in turn frustrated guests cancelling their hotel arrangements.

Recently, the situation has become even more complicated with the enforcement of mandatory coronavirus testing and mandatory self-isolation / quarantine periods of one or two weeks upon arrival depending on the outcome of the test as well as depending the traveller’s country of origin.  Apart from that, hotel health protocols have been introduced by each country with certain measures suggested being almost impossible to implement in real life.

For the past couple of months, we have worked very hard and have examined thoroughly multiple factors and scenarios. Unfortunately, the disappointing messages received from our main source markets, combined with the frustrating travel restrictions on a per country level as well as the extreme health protocols imposed, further reinforced our view that we have to take the unfortunate decision not to open at all for summer 2020. In this “new reality” emerged, we have concluded that the safety of both, our guests and employees is of paramount importance to us; far more important than to jeopardize this with unclear health protocols that will put a family’s holiday to potential health risks.

While this decision has not been taken lightly, it will still provide us with a great opportunity to plan, regroup and further improve our product until we can safely resume operation in the future and hopefully until the industry can return back to normality.

Our team remains even more committed to our work in creating a fun and safe holiday environment and we are all optimistic that this is exactly what we will deliver in the next coming seasons.
